New luxury Samui resort opens its doors

17 Oct 2011

The Mantra Samui Resort and Spa is the latest addition to the Thai holiday island’s eclectic range of accommodation venues. The hotel on the north coast of Samui took more than three years to build and opened on 10 October.

The resort is managed by Great Hotels of the World and offers guests 70 different themed chambers that have been specifically designed to suit different guest requirements. People opting to stay at this stylish establishment have a great range of amenities and services to choose from.

The fully equipped fitness centre offers squash courts, state-of-the-art cardio and weight machines. The treadmills in the gym allow runners to exercise while taking in fabulous sea views, while the yoga studio, built using Himalayan salt bricks, offers classes in Hot and Gentle Flow.

The Mantra’s outdoor infinity pool offers sunloungers and the adjacent spa provides guests with rejuvenating treatments that include massages, fruit body wraps and herbal jacuzzi baths.

The onsite 15-seat cinema has scheduled showings from the Mantra’s extensive library and can be reserved by guests for their own private screenings. Chef Daniel oversees the international and local gourmet delights served at the onsite Ubuntu Restaurant and the Damma Dining Room.

The manager of the Mantra said at the opening ceremonies that a lot of hard work had gone into ensuring guests were given a home-away-from-home experience with a level of comfort and facilities that would rival any resort hotel in the world.
