Samui resort sets up sail-in dining service

27 May 2013

A top Koh Samui resort has just launched a service offering yachters a sail-in service for gourmet food and beverages. The W Retreat on the north shore of Samui runs this bespoke service on Saturdays between 12:30 and 16:00.

All boaters have to do is drop anchor close to the cape that separates Maenam and Bophut beaches and a bottled menu will be dispatched to their vessel. The gustatory delights consist of a range of fresh salads, barbecued meat and produce of the sea, burgers and pizzas.

The Sip Bar’s signature beverages, which include sangria, fruit cocktails and chilled beers, are the perfect complement to a meal or snack in paradise. The W offers a delivery service to the boats, but the resort’s management says that boaters can come ashore and enjoy the W’s exotic attractions and setting.

A management spokesperson stated that although the boating equivalent of a drive-thru was primarily aimed at yachters, all holidaymakers were more than welcome. With this aim in mind, the resort’s resident DJs, together with the occasional imported big name, will be spinning contemporary tunes for patrons.

Between 15:30 and 18:30, guests are able to sample the Sunset Wowtini in a double dose by taking advantage of the buy-one-get-one-free happy-hour. Smart-phone users with the W app can pre-order their sail-in and beat the queue.

The 1Stop Samui hospitality pages provide useful tips about where to dine and enjoy a night out on this island in paradise.
