Resort therapy kills sleep disorders

15 Apr 2013

One of Koh Samui’s top-notch resorts recently launched a therapeutic body treatment designed to induce a good night’s sleep. Therapists at the Conrad Koh Samui Resort administer the aromatic procedures in the privacy of guests’ accommodation to complete the feeling of total relaxation.

A Conrad spokesperson said aromatherapy oils are used to relax the brain. At the same time, the therapist massages and works out knots in the body’s muscles. Together the two actions slow down the patient’s breathing and heartbeat and thereby set the scene for a dreamless slumber.

The spokesperson continued by saying that a good percentage of people suffered insomnia some time in their lives. Anybody suffering sleeplessness over long periods faces possible health hazards including diabetes.

Guests at the Conrad can book deep-sleep treatments to coincide with their bedtimes. In this way the treatment helps establish sleep patterns to battle the scourge of insomnia.

The 90-minute treatments are 4,200 Baht. Couples taking the treatment together can do so for the discounted rate of 7,500 Baht. Spa treatments at the Conrad garner HHonors points which can be used towards free nights at any of the 800 Hilton properties around the world.

The Conrad Koh Samui is located in the pristine district of Taling Ngam in the southwest corner of the island. The resort features elegantly appointed villas with their own private pools and verandas.

As well as the onsite spa, guests can pamper themselves by taking advantage of amenities including four eateries, a well-stocked wine cellar and a state-of-the-art fitness facility. The 1Stop Samui travel guide has a link to a room reservations website where visitors can book a villa at the Conrad at preferential rates.
