Samui resort boat trips set for maiden voyage
20 Aug 2012
The Conrad Koh Samui Resort is marking its first successful year of operations with an innovative new service for guests. The resort recently announced it would be launching daily boat cruises to a nearby deserted island on its first birthday which falls on 1 September.
A spokesperson for the Conrad stated that the crossing to the island took about 30 minutes in each direction and would provide voyagers with commanding views of the Gulf of Thailand and the majestic isles that dot its sparkling surface. He added that resort guests had the choice of purchasing a signature Conrad picnic hamper to enjoy on the destination island.
The hampers are offered in choices of Thai, international or luxury themes and are 1,900 baht per person. The Conrad representative said all three options would generate the definitive dining experience for gourmands.
Commenting on the new boat cruises, the Conrad’s general operations manager, Justin Philips, said they were a fitting reflection of the resort’s panache and also added a unique fusion of elegance and tropical paradise to offer guests an excursion that they would remember for a lifetime.
When the Conrad’s cruises start on 1 September is just prior to the start of the island’s peak tourist season. Travel agents in the UK and other European nations have reported the Conrad still has vacancies and there are bargains to be had on last-minute bookings.
